Known as the ‘Queen of the Welsh Resorts’, Llandudno is the largest seaside resort town in Wales. It is best known for its long promenade overlooking a row of pastel-coloured Victorian buildings; its two popular beaches, North Shore and West Shore; its two headlands, Great Orme and Little Orme; its famous Victorian pier; and Venue Cymru, the region’s biggest performing arts and events centre. The town has plenty of visitor attractions including fairground rides, arcades, cafés, bars and many retail outlets. It is easily accessed via the A470 which connects to other North Wales towns via the A55 North Wales Expressway, whilst the A5 links to Snowdonia National Park.

Llandudno has an excellent public transport system which includes Llandudno Station and Junction Station. The latter is one of the busiest stations in North Wales, being on the North Wales Coast Line with rail services running to both the North West and Holyhead.

The Great Orme, a limestone headland and nature reserve in the north-west of the town, is accessible via the Great Orme Tramway (Britain’s only cable-hauled public road tramway) or by aerial cable car. The Little Orme, a smaller yet similar limestone headland, is on the eastern side of Llandudno Bay. In April 1991, the Great Orme Copper Mines site was opened to the public.

Llandudno is home to the longest pier in Wales which won ‘Pier of the Year 2025’. Taking two years to construct, building commenced in 1876. The pier is known for its splendid Victorian and Edwardian elegance, with its kiosks designed by architects Charles Henry Driver and Charles H. Rew. In the early 20th century, the pier became so popular during the summer season that extensive improvements were made which included the widening of a large portion of the structure.

Every March, up to 4,000 runners visit Llandudno to take part in the ‘Run Wales’ half marathon and 10 miler; in 2027, the event will celebrate its 15th anniversary. The half marathon race starts opposite Venue Cymru, travels along the promenade to the Victorian pier, then to Rhos on Sea, before returning to Venue Cymru along the same route. It is mostly flat, with the exception of Little Orme’s half mile hill.

Venue Cymru hosts concerts, shows and theatre productions throughout the year and is North Wales’s premier conference and exhibition venue. In 2026, it hosted the Welsh Open snooker tournament.

Llandudno has Victorian charm, a beautiful coastline, spectacular scenery and outdoor and cultural activities aplenty. It’s no surprise that an estimated 10 million tourists visit the town each year!

Llandudno is the perfect location for experienced operators or first-time business owners to acquire a guest house, bed & breakfast or hotel. The town’s community is a welcoming one and the number of thriving hospitality businesses on the promenade and throughout the town justify its title of ‘Queen of the Welsh Resorts’.

Furthermore, Conwy County Borough Council is dedicated to tourism and commercial expansion: it is repurposing town centre buildings as leisure and entertainment hubs and spending £800,000 on the restoration of the historic 170 metre Colonnade. In October 2025, the council also announced a major upgrade to Venue Cymru following a £2 million investment from the Welsh Government Transforming Towns Programme.

With a number of established businesses available for sale or let in Llandudno, there is something to suit everyone: investment buyers wishing to add properties to their portfolios, experienced operators looking for their next commercial opportunity and couples seeking ‘lifestyle businesses’.
