The property sits at the entrance to central Ross-on-Wye when approaching from the M50, a town which is often been described as “Little Switzerland”. Ross-on-Wye has become an increasingly popular residential location due to its strategic position at the intersection of the M50, A40 and A49 routes which provide excellent transport links to South Wales, the Midlands via the M5 as well as Gloucester and Cheltenham.
The Plough Inn is a building of immense character, dating back to the 17th Century, retaining many original features such as beamed ceilings, stone walls and wall panelling. It benefits from three bar areas, a skittle alley, a modern two-bedroom accommodation and a large trade garden. Despite being closed since the start of the Covid pandemic, the property has been maintained and improved greatly since this time.
The Plough has now been in the same family ownership for 32 years and for most of this time was run under management. It has now been purchased by a regional pub group, well-known to Sidney Phillips, off an asking price of £350,000.
