The idyllic country and coastal settings contained within Devon and Cornwall are some of the most notable in the country.

This is one of Britain's most popular tourist areas, with its long sandy beaches, and very picturesque interior, with landscapes of moorland, hills and valleys. Many buyers quickly find themselves at home with a large number of village or small town residents having also retired or relocated to the South West seeking a quality way of life.

The leisure and hospitality markets are experiencing high demand for freeholds and free-of-tie public house leases, especially pubs with letting rooms. These tend to be affordable to younger purchasers, many of which have trained in the hospitality industry and seek their first step in branching out on their own, or for more experienced operators looking to move from the hustle and bustle of the South East.

Seaside guesthouses and country house hotels continue to be popular purchases, especially as the wedding market continues to reopen and grown following the pandemic.

Landlords with rental income producing investments also are favouring the South West as an area in which to expand their portfolio with good returns on investment being achieved.
