Wales houses some of the UK’s most dramatic and eye catching scenery, from the mountains of the Snowdonia National Park, Brecon Beacons and Black Mountains to the coastal plains of the Gower Peninsula, Vale of Glamorgan and the Isle of Anglesea, and numerous stone-built honeypot towns and villages in between, it is no wonder it is such a popular tourist destination all year round.

Boasting a distinctive culture and enjoying a degree of autonomy since 1999, the Welsh economy is refocusing on light industry, tourism and financial services, moving away from the historic mining and farming communities that once were the staple of the Principality’s economic growth.

Southern coastal regions such as The Mumbles, Saundersfoot and Rhossili are a great draw to holiday makers in the summer months, with visitors flocking from the South West and South East of England to enjoy golden sands and fresh air. Rhyl and Coney in the north draw strong numbers of visitors from the North of England to their historic castles and beaches with fast road and rail connections direct from the Midlands.

The character of leisure and hospitality businesses in the region vary massively and include stone-built villages pubs, grand Georgian waterfront guest houses and stunning country house hotels set in rolling countryside.

The leisure and hospitality market in Wales has for many years been strong, predominantly fuelled by the desire of those living and working in large financial and economic hubs to escape the rate race for a more relaxed pace of life. Freehold pubs for sale continue to generate strong demand, with the ability to buy more for your money much stronger in Wales than in other parts of the UK. Free-of-tie pubs to let and pubs with letting bedrooms are becoming ever more sought after with the expected increase in staycations likely to be witnessed in the coming years.
